Lonely: Boo the cat regularly disturbs his owners when they are trying to sleep, just like a lot of pets
Normally the worst behaviour cat owners have to endure in the night is their pet mewing pathetically outside their door or scratching the furniture.
But one couple are subjected to a particularly bizarre alarm clock ritual by their furry companion, thanks to the springing doorstep inside their bedroom.
The couple's cat Boo infuriates his owners by pawing at the doorstop underneath the bedroom door, often giving them an unpleasant wake-up call at 5am.

Playful: The curious cat loves nothing more than rolling around near the bedroom door to get attention from his owners
Boo's owner captured his pet's 'terrible habit' one night and has since posted the hilarious evidence of his cat's attention-seeking on YouTube.
The video shows Boo waiting for some attention from his owners outside their bedroom door, with a caption saying: 'Boo can't stand to be by himself!'
His owner added a comment below the video saying: 'My cat Boo has the terrible habit of messing with the door stop to wake us up early in the morning.
'He doesn't do it because he's hungry, he does it because he feels lonely. When he flicks the door stop it scares [us a lot] and we wake up right away.'

Attention seeker: The playful puss has cleverly worked out where the doorstop is, and uses it to his full advantage in getting attention, often at 5am
